Born and raised in San Francisco California, Brigitta was always intrigued with the city’s beauty , diversity and the rich cultures. Discovering this 7x7 mile city gave her an appreciation for small boutique businesses and their individual styles. As a creator who lives to dream and manifest, she has developed a “love jones” for all things that are beautiful. At the top of her career as a licensed esthetician, Brigitta worked a grueling yet rewarding schedule in a prominent skincare clinic in Oakland CA. The clinical knowledge she gained was invaluable. Desiring her more creative input, she decided to open her own practice closer to home and her two sons.
With her passion for holistic skincare, and the support of family and friends, the Skin City flagship store opened in 1995 in San Francisco. Before transitioning into a full time business owner, employer and esthetician, she supplemented her income by teaching skincare at local cosmetology schools.
Fast forward 20 years…Brigitta’s ideology shifted and so did her work goals. The pleasure of esthetics was becoming overshadowed by the demands of managing a full-time staff as well as a successful business. Taking the initial step to slow down and step back allowed for some reflection and decision making. Deciding to eventually close the SF storefront, the thought of relocating her business to the “East Bay”. became more than a dream. In 2019 Skin City reopened in the Laurel District of Oakland CA. It was a good run, but the location turned out to be too noisy and not the best fit for the tranquility Brigitta was seeking for herself and her clients.
Then came COVID. This unforeseen disruption led to the decision to close the Oakland storefront. Not working for one year allowed her to become more fully aligned with her purpose and her state of self awareness. She was ready to fully step into the more tranquil side of her craft.
In 2021 , she reopened a carefully designed studio nestled in a lush garden. One day while sitting in the garden and sipping a perfect Pinot Noir, Brigitta announced to her close friends, “I have arrived”. Skin City’s Garden Oasis offers a vibe bringing all the pieces together to create a cohesive whole “selfcare” experience.
Today Brigitta continues to enjoy her work by providing the very best care to her clients. She is constantly researching new products and creating new treatments to make each client’s experience one they will not forget.
